Shannon Burns Peña

Burns and Peña Law

Shannon Burns Peña heads up the family law division of Burns, Peña and Associates. Shannon attended law school at the University of Houston. While enrolled she completed two distinguished internships: one with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and one with the esteemed Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison.

Shannon graduated law school in 2005 and went straight into practicing criminal defense. For several years she employed the knowledge and skills gained from her time with the District Attorney’s Office to her client’s benefit.

After starting a family of her own, Shannon felt a calling to practice family law. She witnessed a broad lack of compassion in the family law practice. Some attorneys use children as a bargaining chip, others take advantage of compromised emotions, and oftentimes it seems like the only people that come out of a divorce ahead are the lawyers. Shannon knew that there was a better way.

Shannon is a devoted and compassionate advocate. She takes a very thorough, hands-on approach with each client. A meeting with Shannon will never feel rushed, she will always ensure the client’s goals are clearly communicated and will implement the most appropriate course of action. She knows that sometimes it is in the best interest of a family to part ways, and that sometimes the child’s best interest is healthy co-parenting of separated parents over hostile parenting by an incompatible married couple.

If you find yourself contemplating a divorce, needing to address a child custody arrangement, or simply wanting to speak with an attorney about your options, give Burns, Peña and Associates a call and get Shannon on your side.
